New York City businesswomen Kirsten Poe, Renée Warren and Danielle Grassi had
just about enough of the pressures of running a business, trying to have
relationships, finding time for relaxation and preparing for their financial
futures, they were convinced that several of their women friends had the same
pressures. After surveying and realizing
their friends and the women in their predominately female company had the same
issues, regardless of their backgrounds and marital status, they decided to do
something about it.
Poe and Warren, already successful
business owners for their own media consulting company, Noelle-Elaine Media,
Inc., solicited the contacts they had made in the business and decided to
create Just
for H.E.R.!, a Healthy, Energizing and Rejuvenating Conference for
Women.
“When we surveyed our friends, we
found that whether they were working women, stay-at-home moms, married or
single, they were still making themselves the last priority. Their well-being was always second to work,
family or career,” said Warren, who was the originator of the concept. “Just for H.E.R.! will allow these women to make
themselves a priority and help them develop useful skill sets for maintaining
that past the conference.”
Just for H.E.R.!, a
one-day conference for women, will take place November 2, 2002 at the Grand
Hyatt Hotel in New York City. The

experts from fitness expert Kellye Davis to relationship coach Fran Greene, etiquette expert Harriette Cole,
psychologist Dr.
Clara Whaley Perkins and author Carol Higgins Clark. Utilizing their media contacts, they were able to round up
CNN’s Susan
Lisovicz and Valerie Morris, Heart & Soul’s Corynne Corbette, and Inside
Edition’s April
Woodard as moderators.
“I think as women, we all identify
with the need for something like this to happen,” said Poe. “This is why we have had the support of so
many great speakers who felt the need to be here and to make something like
this happen. We are hoping to be able
to take this concept across the country because women everywhere need this type
of forum.”
